For 41/2 days the survivors floated in 15 foot swells. Some stayed in groups, some were separated. It was both a horrific tale of death and of survival. The waters were infested with sharks and many men were eaten alive. If the sharks didn’t get them, sunburn, starvation and lack of water did.
